African black soap, also known as Alata Samina in Ghana, is a traditional black soap made with plant ash from ingredients including cocoa pods and plantain skins. Our version continues the same craft with plantain, cocoa, roasted palm leaves, coconut oil and unrefined shea butter, just as women in Ghanaian villages have made it for generations.
Black soap provides a gentle yet powerful cleanse that removes dirt and excess sebum without leaving the skin feeling tight. Many people value it when they want to cleanse deeply while using a soap that feels balanced on the face, body and scalp. It can feel slightly rough at first, but it softens quickly in your hands and creates a gentle lather.
Like shea butter, it also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. That is why it is so often mentioned when people talk about a more even skin tone, calmer skin and fewer breakouts.
How to use it
Break off a small piece, wet your hands and rub it into a gentle lather. Massage onto the face, body or scalp and rinse thoroughly. Keep it dry between uses, preferably on a draining soap dish, so it lasts longer.
A tip
Black soap is powerful. If you begin too intensely, your skin may react with an initial cleansing period. Start a few times per week, observe how your skin responds and increase gradually.

Massage gently for 30 seconds, avoid the eyes and rinse with lukewarm water.On the scalp

05 How should I store it?

El único jabón que me atrevo a utilizar tanto en la cara como en el abdomen sin tener miedo de resecar la propia protección del cuerpo. ¡Junto con la manteca de karité, mi baño queda perfecto! ¡Me sorprendió gratamente este jabón! Increíblemente suave y hace tanta espuma que tampoco pica los ojos como suele ocurrir con el jabón sólido normal. Fuertemente adictivo, por lo que mi piel sensible se secó un poco después del uso diario, ahora lo uso cada dos días y luego funciona bien. El único inconveniente es que mi cabello no se ve bien después de usar el jabón como champú… tal vez el cabello necesite acostumbrarse🤷🏼♀️
